Students in Pre-Kindergarten attend half-day sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Morning (8:15am-11:15am) and afternoon (12:15am-3:15pm) sessions are available. The Early Childhood Extension Program is also available year-round from 7 am until 6 pm. We require your child be 4 years old by the first day of school and be bathroom independent.
DEVELOPMENTAL LEARNING AREAS:
- Faith – Bible stories, prayer, songs
- Creativity – dramatic play, construction, rhythm and music
- Cognition – math, science, problem solving
- Language – journals, oral presentations, show and tell, story time
- Physical – large and small motor skills
- Emotional – self-awareness, recognizing emotions, understanding rules
and routines - Social – valuing diversity, managing relationships, negotiating conflicts
LESSONS ARE PLANNED around a weekly theme with the curriculum incorporated throughout the day. Small group times are utilized in order to accommodate all developmental levels and learning styles. One of the more obvious distinctions of our school is the Christian atmosphere we maintain. We include a short prayer before meals, have Bible stories in our book corner and read them at story times, teach children simple Bible verses and observe Christian holidays.
